Project Proposal
Hi,
I'm the author of the drivers for E-Ink displays in the Linux kernel, broadsheetfb, metronomefb, hecubafb. I also write about my work for magazines. LinuxJournal article. I think the i.MX515 with its A8 core, power management capabilities and graphics engine would make a better suited platform than my current target which is an 8-year old architecture. What I intend to do is to build an interface conversion board that would convert the 22-pins of GPIO from the 515 so that they can be interfaced with the E-Ink panel controller. Then I would port the system software over to this platform. It will be an interesting challenge to make everything work well together, ie: make host sleep modes tie in with the display controller, make the graphics engine be able to render to host memory and then transfer via GPIO without swizzling.
