Project Proposal
The global webhosting business is growing rapidly, accellerating, as more and more of the world gets connected, broadband penetration increases, and storage becomes a commodity.
At some point, certain needs started grow stronger:
- Customers of webhosting services today expects a certain level of functionality, service and ability to control things on their own. They have the ability of choosing from a growing number of services, and will compare their offerings thoroughly before making their decision.
- Webhosting providers are facing not only a growing consumer base, but also a growing competition. They are in need of tools for quick and easy administration, on all levels.
These two needs combines in control panel and webhosting administration software, such as cPanel.
The goal of this project is to create such an application, based on Linux, and later on when Linux distros are fine tuned for the Open Server Workstation, provide a complete solution for setting up and administer a webhosting service based on the OSW.
