Project Proposal
Currently I use a PowerMac G4 to test my Polaris bootstrap and promif code. Since ODW is defined as the developing platform for Polaris, an ODW is definitely necessnary to debug my code.
Along with Polaris porting on ODW, an evaluate of the smartfirmware implementation on ODW will be performed. For example, compare the firmware features of Apple PowerMac machines, ODW and posibble IBM SLOF implentation if we find ways to install it on ODW; test the compliance of smartfirmware with IEEE1275 standard and of ODW with CHRP standard; and identify new features and bugs. An evaluation report and recommendations of new features of firmware on Powerpc platforms and IEEE1275 will be produced with the Polaris project.
