I was at Atea last thursday and had a workshop with Atea:s top linux consultants. I showed them how to use a Efika MX and showed various technologies like Qt. I also talked about the coming Aura.

Below is a few photos of Atea consultants in action with ARM technology from Genesi.

  Software for presentations
posted by Michael Grunditz on 11th May 2010

I am going to do a demonstration of the Efika MX system and I needed something that could show my presentations.

Thanks to Qt and Poppler , a PDF library based on Xpdf , this was easy.

You can see it running in the photo below:

  QtCreator

I have QtCreator and A terminal program running on the native Qt display.
It is fun to be able to develop Qt applications in a native Qt environment.

  Building Qt Everywhere
posted by Michael Grunditz on 24th March 2010

If you want to try out Qt Everywhere on your Efika MX you need to build it.

It requires a lot of dependencis so I sugest that you do it ON your Efika MX.
You will need some extra storage like a USB disk or a NFS mount.

Building it:

Download the latest Qt Everywhere sources from , http://qt.nokia.com/
Unpack it and configure it with: -embedded --prefix==yourstorage
This will not give you GL functionality but the software screen driver is very fast.
Build it with : make ;make install

To run something:

Add the -qws flag to the first app you intend to run on the framebuffer

Good luck !

I am working on a new gfxplugin for Qt Everywhere. I want to get as much performance I can get out of the Efika MX.

Stay tuned for a release of the updated Xqt.
