Project Proposal
Goal: Development of an Automotive Infotainment Platform, based in the i.MX515 board with some extra peripherals (touch LCD, CAN port, GPS/GSM, and more), Linux and open source libraries/applications.
Software specs: i.MX515 optimized - Look for the best performace using ARMv7/NEON instruction sets. OS: - Linux. Audio: - Alsa Support. Graphics and GUI: - *X Windows and DirectFB framebuffer support. - *GTK+, Pango (fonts) and Cairo (vector graphics). - *QTopia. - OPENGL ES 2.0 and OPENVG. Applications: - Multimedia Functions. - Navigation and Driver Information. Enable consumer electronics: - Multimedia players and Codecs. - Bluetooth and USB. - Voice control. Automotive requirements: - Fast boot (<10 sec.). - Connectivity (CAN net support is included in Linux mainline since 2.6.25) *Test and select the best option
Hardware specs: Based in the Freescale/Genesi i.MX515 Board.
Display: - LCD TFT 10.2" 800x480, 16/24bpp and w/ Touch Screen. Multimedia: - Audio Amplifier w/ x4 channels. Connectivity: - USB Host/OTG. - Bluetooth. - Wifi. - Ethernet 10/100. - 2 CAN. - GPRS/GSM. Navigation: - GPS low cost w/ patch antenna.
