i.MX515 Project
Run openSUSE Build Service natively on i.MX515

in category Linux Distributions
proposed by Peter Czanik on 2nd February 2009 (accepted on 1st June 2009)

Project Summary
The openSUSE Build Service is an open distribution and software development platform. It supports many distributions (openSUSE, Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, etc.) and many architectures (x86, PPC, ia64). Recently support for ARM was added Right now support is mainly based on QEMU. This is not very efficient, especially when considering the high performance of i.MX515. Also, often software compilation works best when compiled on the target CPU.
I already used the BS to recompile software for PPC on my local BS instance on a Freescale MPC8610 development system. Now I plan to do the same on ARM and enable building natively on i.MX515.
