Project Proposal
Main goal is to build plug-and-play, low-power and quiet machine with router/web-filter functionality based on open-source software allowing parents to build a safe surfing place for their children.
System should include http and smtp proxy, antivirus, firewall, dhcp server.
Some features that I\'m going to implement:
- virus and spam scanning/content filter/parental control tool with simple web-based control panel and automatic updates of the filtering lists performed in the background.
- tool allowing to determine when or how long users (eg. kids) can surf.
Further development can move towards implementing easy to set-up/plug-and-play email/web server (with easy to use cms preinstalled).
