Project Summary
A Linux based, IP based, small footprint access control system supporting new FIPS-201 Government card program.
The FIPS-201 standard calls for support of contactless (13.56 MHz) & contact Smart Cards, depending on the level of security required.
I want to explore using the EFIKA 5K2 as part of the card reader system. The computing power/footprint ratio & power requirments of the EFIKA 5K2 lends itself nicely to a distributed system where the access decsions can be made at the card reader in a more distributed system.
