Efika - The portable DVR and Wi-Fi system

Project Summary
The idea is to have EFIKA as a small portable MPEG4/MP3 device that can record and playback movies, satellite/cable TV/radio channels, music, pictures, and other video/audio streams from digital camcorders, digital cameras, webcams, and other set top boxes. Many times, we have bulky set top boxes with recorded programs but these machine are not very small and portable.
The EFIKA can help change all of that. Using the Ubuntu OS as a foundation, tools can be included that deal with image manipulation, editing , and viewing (The GIMP?) and audio tools. The EFIKA will also include a VoIP system to transmit conversations, images, messages to other people.
