Project Proposal
To facilitate the marketing of the PPC 8641D as MySQL database server, I would like to perform expressive database benchmarks.
A focus will be the improving the performance of new MySQL storage engine Falcon on PPC. The project will include profiling of MySQL on PPC and if any bottleneck will be found, the development of patches to improve the performance of MySQL on PPC.
My expectation of the project is that it will lead to a performance increase of MySQL on PPC.
In addition we aim to create case studies and benchmarks that will highlight the competive of the PPC architecture and its values for customers.
This project will continue and enhance the benchmark and server profiling work started for the ODW.
